I'm almost back!

Thu Jul 16, 2009, 5:52 PM
Well it's been a crazy year so far. I started taking Beer School back in January, learning all about the science and engineering behind the tasty beverage. I'm almost done with the final leg of the course, I'm half way through with my internship at Hopworks Urban Brewery where in Portland. I quit my job making production jewelry, I'd been at it for nearly 7 years, so I'm officially retired as a commercial jeweler. A little nervous about what lies ahead for me in the brewing industry, but so far it's been great and I have no regrets making the change. Now only if I can get a job once the internship is over! I'll be getting back to work on some new stuff soon. If you come across a copy you can see my jewelry in "The Compendium Finale of Contemporary Jewelers" published by Darling in Cologne Germany.

your functional pieces are stunning! i and several of my friends are professionally, artistically jealous! :D
:iconbhwinter:
Thank you so very much...no need to be jealous though. I haven't been at the workbench in a while, too busy with classes. I'm "retiring" from my job in production/commercial jewelry, so I'm hoping this will help me get back to making the stuff I love.

Your gallery is amazing! I love the attention to detail, and how the parts you incorporate into wearable art all work mechanically. Inspiring and evocative, all of it! :D

Thank's so much. I've have been too busy lately to make anything new, but hopefully when my classes are done with I'll have time to get back to the new pieces I started a few months back. I'm excited about them, I just wish I had more time...or didn't like sleeping so much!
:iconaliboonga:
haha no problem! :D

Wow! Thanks a lot for adding my strange hand mechanism in your favourites. I just noticed that it was also the first picture in there. :omg:
:iconbhwinter:
I'm picky, what can I say. I really like that piece of yours. I didn't have time to look much further but I'll be back to see what else you're up to.
